We had a great turn out for the first EXSS-DEI coffee hour. We are planning for an in-person coffee hour on Monday, July 12 9-10am. We will meet behind SRC/Fetzer at the benches where we have held EXSS tailgates in the past (see map below). Feel free to forward this to colleagues and students.
Regarding the in-person get-together: COVID-19 case counts are decreasing, particularly in the Triangle, where vaccinations are occurring at a higher rate than many other parts of the state and country. But if we do see increases, we will change to a Zoom interface. Please feel free to wear your mask if you prefer, regardless of vaccination status. Also, if you are not ready to do social activities in-person just yet, that’s definitely okay. We will consider rotating the coffee hour to be every other month in-person vs. Zoom to make sure all feel included.
